Guest Speaker: Kate Turner, Dealing confidently with poor performers
Kate Turner of Motivational Leadership Ltd on 'Dealing confidently with poor performers' |
Time: 12.00 - 2.00pm |
With the world of work becoming ever more litigious, and employees becoming increasingly aware of their rights in the workplace, managers often feel their hands are tied when it comes to managing poor performance in the workplace.
There is also a common misconception that the only way to deal with poor performance is through the Disciplinary route. Therefore, faced with the prospect of what is often seen as a long-drawn out process, or worse still, getting it wrong, many managers decide not to even start down this path. As a result poor performance is allowed to fester in organisations, spreading discontent amongst remaining staff, a lowering of standards and, of course, reduced performance of the company. According to the Toughlove survey carried out by Personnel Today and Chiumento, poor performance is costing the British economy a staggering £30m per year.
In this talk, Kate Turner from Motivational Leadership will show us:
- How to identify and respond to the main causes of poor performance
- How to give effective feedback that leads to action
- How to develop an action plan which leads to improved performance
