Q. Can I pay on the day?
A. You can book and pay online by the deadline shown for each meeting or contact us if you want to pay in advance by cheque. Unfortunately we are unable to accept bookings without payment. We need to inform the venue of our numbers in advance and if someone has booked but not paid and then does not turn up we are still liable to pay for their place. If you haven't booked or paid in advance but would like to come along, there will be a small additional charge, as well as the meeting fee, at the door.
Q: How much do I pay to attend your networking events?
For details on meeting fees and joining fees please click on Network Meeting Fees.
Q. Can I have a refund if I am unable to attend?
A. If you cancel after the Wednesday deadline, we are unable to issue a refund as the venue has already been informed of the numbers.
Q. Will I have to stand up and make a speech or presentation?
A. No. However, we do ask all members and visitors to introduce themselves to the room so that everyone in attendance has an opportunity to speak to someone in particular if they so wish.
Q. What if nobody speaks to me?
A. Networking can be daunting for some people, particularly in the beginning. Your hosts will know that you are a visitor or new member and will ensure that you are introduced to other people on the day. Remember, even the long standing members had a first time visit. Most people are a little nervous but leave feeling that the group was friendly and open.
Q. What if I join but can’t come to every networking meeting?
A. As with all networking, it is really important that you try and attend as many meetings as possible. Networking is about relationships and if you want to be uppermost in someone’s mind when they are discussing your industry, you need to have invested your time in the group so that people get to know you, like you and trust you. Don’t make networking a low priority – treat it as you would a client and given time you will start to reap the rewards. After all, there are only 11 meetings a year and you are given the dates at the beginning of the year, so there is no excuse!

Q. Can I be a speaker at an Ellevate Networking event?
A. You will need to speak to your Hosts. Speakers at Ellevate Networking events are booked in advance and the programme is varied to avoid repetition. If it is considered that your topic would be of benefit to the business group then you could be included in the diary of speakers although you will be asked to ensure that the presentation is not an excuse for a sales pitch but a real opportunity to share your skills with the group.
Q. How do I book for a networking meeting?
A. You can either register and book online via PayPal via this website www.ellevate.co.uk or send your request by post clearly indicating for which meeting you would like to book and enclosing a cheque, made payable to Ellevate Networking, to: Ellevate Networking, c/o 25 Evans Business Centre, Hampton Park West, Melksham, Wiltshire, SN12 6LH by the deadline shown on the meeting details.
Q. Do you restrict membership to one business per industry?
A. No. We believe that competition is healthy and that there can be benefits from networking with people from the same line of business.
Q. What if I book but can’t attend. Can one of my colleagues come instead?
A. Yes. Membership is usually for an individual within a business, however we have recently broadened the membership so that a business can have up to 3 named people who are able to attend. As long as your Hosts know this when membership is taken out, they will ensure that they have a record of the individuals concerned.
Q. How long do the networking meetings last?
A. Each networking meeting runs from 12 – 2.00pm and includes refreshments and lunch. The first 30 minutes are an opportunity to mix and mingle before taking your seat for the Speaker. Over lunch there is a further opportunity to mix with the last 15 minutes consisting of announcements and a useful business exchange. Your Hosts will endeavour to keep the meeting on track but if you wish to continue a conversation beyond 2.00pm there is usually an opportunity to organise this as you are leaving.
Q. How do I join as a full member of Ellevate Networking to get discounted meeting rates?
